Arizona’s very own junior golfer, Owen Greenough, has officially committed to Pepperdine University in Malibu, California for the 2027–28 golf season. We caught up with Owen to learn more about him and this exciting decision.
TJG: Congratulations, Owen! After your many years of junior golf, how does it feel to have your college decision finalized?
Owen: Honestly, it feels amazing. Junior golf has been such a big part of my life, so finally knowing where I’m headed takes a huge weight off my shoulders. It’s a mix of relief and excitement—like all the work I’ve put in is really starting to pay off.
TJG: What were the deciding factors in choosing Pepperdine?
Owen: Pepperdine just felt like the perfect fit for me. The coaching staff, the culture, and the level of competition all stood out right away. Plus, the environment is super supportive and pushes players to get better. Once I visited and talked with the team, it was pretty clear that’s where I wanted to be.
TJG: What are you most looking forward to as a college golfer?
Owen: I’m really looking forward to being part of a team that’s competing at such a high level. Traveling, practicing, and grinding with guys who share the same goals is something I’m excited about. I also can’t wait to test my game in bigger events and see how much I can grow over the next few years.

TJG: Name one strength of your game and one area you’re working hardest to improve.
Owen: My biggest strength is definitely my iron play — it’s the part of my game I trust the most. The area I’m working hardest on right now is my driver. I’m really focusing on consistency off the tee so I can take advantage of more scoring opportunities.

TJG: Do you currently have any sponsorships?
Owen: Yeah, I’m currently sponsored by Ping, Titleist, and FootJoy. They’ve supported me a ton, and I’m really grateful for that.
TJG: What grade are you in?
Owen: I’m a junior in high school.
Once again, congratulations, Owen! We wish you the best over the next two years of junior golf as you continue sharpening your game for the college level in 2027!
